I love traveling & exploring different places across the world. As I believe ‘Job fills my pocket, but then only adventure can fill my soul’. And if you are reading this right now, I urge you to get your backpacks & set on a travel to an entirely new place. There you would find the unknown you.

So being born & brought up in Tamil Nadu, I have explored a lot of places around here. May it be hills or mountains or shopping or for food, I just love giving it a kick. Why now? I love to unravel the twist & turns in life. Believe me, travel gives you a very compassionate feeling you had ever felt for. So now let's explore the beautiful places to visit in Valparai.

Valparai is a hill station in the Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu. While you enroot to Valparai you get to cross 40 hairpin bends, yeah you heard me right! It's 40 hairpin bends. Don’t worry it's fun to keep count & cross all of them in a tweak as it stands majestically with green-spread mountains & forest all around. And it is a must-visit place in the south of Tamil Nadu.

What to see in Valparai? I know this hits your mind, right now. So I am here with a list of places that cannot be missed to visit ever in Valparai. So are you ready to get the lists? I hope you are!

Nalamudi Viewpoint:

Oh my god, this place is just amazing. A visual treat to your eyes. You know what? You get to see the nearby state Kerala from this viewpoint. Sound great right? The waterfalls seem like a silver line moving amidst the greenery. A thick layer of mist flutters above your head. You get to smell the frozen air. And beyond this point there is no more path to travel & go further, this means Nalamudi Viewpoint is the dead-end of Valparai. You get to park your vehicles & walk for about a kilometer along with the tea estate to get to the location. Are you a photography lover? Yeah, me too! And you would get amazing pictures clicked here.

Koolangal River:

So Koolangal basically means pebbles. And as the name suggest the river is filled with pebbles as it flows over it. It is just 3kms from Valparai town. This is not a very big river to be scared of. It is a fast-flowing cold fresh clean stream with the smell of Koolangal. It is moderately crowded & a great place to enjoy with friends & family. It is believed that elephants, Indian bison leopards are common visitors of the river. A beautiful place indeed.

Loams Viewpoint:

You remember as I said there are 40 hairpin bends in Valparai & as you climb it you get to see an amazing view called the Loams Viewpoint. To say exactly the view is much clearer in the 9th bend as you climb up the hill. It is actually 7 km from Monkey Falls, 12 km from Aliyar Dam, 31 km from Valparai, and 35 km from Pollachi. There you get to see an impeccable view of Alaiyar dam & its reservoir, the Western Ghats, and the dazzling sunset views. This is the best vantage point in Valparai to have a great treasure to your eyes. If you get to stop here try catching a Panoramic view of this point & you will feel amazed.

Aliyar Dam:

This is an earthen dam & located at the foothills of Valparai. This dam offers certain ideal breakthroughs into the park, aquarium, boathouse park, and garden. And the interesting point here is you get to enjoy the relaxing boating with your loved ones. Imagine rowing a boat amidst the hills on all sides with a great scenic indulgence. Oh yes! I am tempted to go again & experience the warmth. I could even feel the breezy wind with floating hair, enjoying the scenic beauty of the place with Katcha mango dipped in Mirchi & salt. You could feel that right? Yes, you caught me!

Monkey Falls :

I am truly a fan of this natural waterfall, I’ve been here since my childhood with friends & family. Yes, as the name suggests there would be a lot of friendly monkeys around. You are solely responsible for your belongings, as you go for a bath the monkeys would zip-out your bag & start playing. But cool right, I totally enjoy these natural beauties. In-fact the monkeys add core value to the place. You get to experience a bath amidst the hills with the chirping of birds & the sound of the falling water. It is one of the most exciting attractions in Valparai that you should not miss if you get there.

So yes, I have almost listed the most important must-visit places in Valparai. Trust me guys, these places are the best you could ever save a lifetime memory for. So as you go there don’t forget to charge your camera batteries as you have a lot to capture. At the end of your trip, you would have a craving for the scenic beauty.
